How to convert SRT to TXT

  1. Click Open .srt file or paste the subtitle text into the input box.
  2. Tick Join multi-line subtitles if you want each subtitle on a single line.
  3. Click Convert to TXT, then copy the text or download it as a .txt file.

What gets removed

The converter drops the numeric index line, the 00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:03,000 time line, HTML-style tags such as <i> and <b>, and ASS-style override codes like {\an8}. The spoken text stays in its original order.

Why turn subtitles into text?

A plain transcript is easier to proofread, translate, quote in an article, or reuse as show notes and video descriptions. It is also handy for feeding the text into a word frequency counter or cleaning it with remove line breaks.

Frequently asked questions

No. The conversion runs in JavaScript in your browser.

Can I convert the text back to SRT?

Yes, use the TXT to SRT converter to add new timings.
